Rest in Peace by pyonkotchi96 Rest in Peace by pyonkotchi96
My parents and I were sitting on the porch today when a butterfly flew over and landed on my mother's hand. It literally stayed there for more than a half hour. I just had to get some photos. I took close to sixty, but I've only uploaded the two best.

I looked up when a butterfly lands on your hand on google, and found a lot of sites saying that it was a sign from God that He loves you, good luck, and the soul of a deceased friend or family member watching over you. My beloved grandmother recently passed away in April, exactly three months ago today, and I think it was her checking up on us. (:

Over 30 minutes? That's definitely a good sign right there. Love the photo!

I always wanted to take a photo like this of a buttlerfly, but I never got an opportunity. You did it so well, and this description... It put this caring smile on my face. Thank You. (:

Very warm and beautiful details ^^
I don't know why but I love the "furry" look of the wings :D Reminds me of a tigers fur. Very unique shot!

Also, the story behind it is equally warm :) adding emotions to the picture!
Well done :)

A very lovely scene. The butter flight is looking quite huge compared to those living at my place, usually our moths (aka night butterflies) are larger then those, the largest one which is also the rarest has a wingspan up to around 12cm this is 4.72"

I'm faithful yet not superstitious but it's an interesting story ^_^

Thank you! I never really believed in these kind of occurrences before either, but after all that's happened these past few months I've begun to believe that anything is possible. ♥

Such a beautiful animal. It's great to check out all the details,
especially on the eyes and the hairs. Wonderful capture and a beautiful background story BTW.

This one is not as bright as the first one, but it is truly lovely. Love sharpness and the commentary under the picture. Great shot :D

Nice shot, I like the angle. The colors seem a bit muted on this one though, it could use a little brightening up.

The purpose was mainly to soften the tone of the skin. The original photograph had a lot of shadows on the skin and it was distracting to the overall image, so I had to soften it up. But I actually ended up liking the effect it created on the colors of the butterfly. ^_^
